Investment Overview

Plane Frameworks has developed an innovative new approach to custom carbon fibre bicycle frame manufacturing that produces high quality single piece frames (Monocoque) efficiently.

Within the larger bicycle market there is a growing manufacturing segment and demand for custom made bicycles. The desire for people to want something unique and personalised is becoming evident in many consumer industries where the mass produced can be seen as mundane and the custom made exciting and desirable.

A custom fit bicycle for your exact body requirements and the specific usage you want from it, with the exact configuration you desire and the look you want, is as close to perfection as you can get. This takes time, consideration and input but is so far away from a standardised, off-the-shelf product that the two are hardly comparable.

The business model they have developed to support expansion is streamlined and designed to have significant benefits to the areas of the sales and distribution channels, which are currently seeing stress, lower margins and specialisation. Great margins for PLANE FRAMEWORKS LTD, the dealer network and a great price for the customer, make the sales proposition and strategy a compelling ‘win-win-win’.

What is Plane Frameworks?

Plane Frameworks Ltd designs, manufactures, markets and sells custom bicycle frames through the innovative use of materials and processes, with its specialty being custom geometry carbon fibre frames. Plane Frameworks has been developed out of many years of research and development and production of bicycles through several previous brands. The custom carbon fibre frame production that is the cornerstone of the Company has now been developed and refined over seven years.

How is Plane Frameworks’ manufacturing process different?

The efficiency of the manufacturing process and Plane’s low-cost structure allows Plane to implement a pricing strategy that means a fully customised frame is comparable to that of a medium-to high-end off-the-shelf alternative, however better fitting for the cyclist with their own flare in colouring, styling and customisation of parts.

What is Plane Frameworks’ vision and mission?

Plane Frameworks aims to be a highlight in the reinvention of Australian manufacturing, bringing an innovative, high tech and profitable business back onshore. Plane Frameworks’ long-term goals are to become a powerhouse in bike frame manufacturing, providing a highly desirable and cutting edge product sought after by both professional and for those who see riding is an intimate part of their lifestyle.

T3 Bicycle uses the certified Retul bike fitting system, which has a very strong customer-centric philosophy and works hard to deliver a high level of service, especially for those that are seeking something unique or exotic. As well as a great physical location, T3 also has a significant online presence with both social media and an extensive mailing list.Similarly to many large cities around the world, Singapore is experiencing strong growth in cycling popularity and with a high percentage of individuals that have a high disposable income. This makes it an ideal distribution location for Plane Frameworks’ product.T3 are very upbeat about adding Plane Frameworks to their range and have ordered two sample frame sets to display in their shop.  Check out the T3  website
Blacksmith Cycle Toronto

Blacksmith Cycle Toronto (Blacksmith) is a specialist bike dealer who in their own words; “We are not a normal bike shop, sorry. Yes, we technically sell bikes, but what we really do is design and execute complicated machinery, a bicycle to a customer’s exact needs, right down to the finest detail.”

Blacksmith has seen strong growth over the last couple of years, they have built a loyal following from customers in Canada and the United States.

The range of products carried by Blacksmith is what you would call exclusively high end. They are looking forward to adding Plane Frameworks to their portfolio as it will enable them the additional flexibility with custom geometry, carbon fibre frames.

The showroom sample that Blacksmith has ordered is an ‘Adventure’ style road bike, this segment rapidly growing in popularity and one not typically covered by other custom carbon frame builders.

As well as providing the fitting services, which is the key to Plane’s frame manufacturing, Blacksmith Cycle is a great bunch of guys that Plane is looking forward to working with.

To date, Addicted has customised mostly off-the-shelf frame sets and added a raft of stylish personal touches. They are excited to add a full custom geometry carbon frameset to their portfolio and take customisation to a deeper level.
In addition to their own bike builds, Addicted have a network of high-end cycling shops and they have proposed to act as a distributor for Plane Frameworks Ltd, which would give Plane Frameworks Ltd coverage for the entire UK.
